Australia Cricket Team, which has won its last four matches in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, has to face the defending champions England Team (England Cricket Team) in its seventh match. This match between the two teams is to be played on 4th November at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, before this match, the Australian team has suffered a big blow and the brilliantly performing all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of the match. Maxwell got injured while playing golf and due to this he will not be a part of his team’s next match.

According to the news of ESPN Cricinfo, while returning from the club house to the team bus, Glenn Maxwell was standing holding on to the back of the golf cart due to lack of space to sit, but his grip became loose and he fell. Now he is likely to remain in concussion protocol for six to eight days. For this reason he will not be a part of the match against England.

Maxwell had recently returned to form after consistently poor performances with the bat in the first few matches of the 2023 World Cup. The all-rounder scored the fastest century in World Cup history in 40 balls against Netherlands at the Arun Jaitley Stadium and broke Aiden Markram’s record of fastest century in 49 balls. The South African player had also achieved this feat in the current World Cup and he broke the record of former Ireland player Kevin O’Brien (50 balls) made in 2011.
Maxwell’s exclusion means that Australia will have to include Marcus Stoinis or Cameron Green in the team for the match against England and Marnus Labuschagne can retain his place.
