Under-19 Asia Cup: India won against Afghanistan

Under-19 Asia Cup started in Dubai from today and two matches were played on the first day. In the first match of Group A, the Indian team defeated Afghanistan by 7 wickets with 75 balls remaining, while in the second match, Pakistan defeated Nepal by 7 wickets with 142 balls remaining.

In today’s first match, India won the toss and gave Afghanistan a chance to bat first but the team failed to make a big score and scored 173 after losing all the wickets in 50 overs. Jamsheed Zadran scored the most runs and played an inning of 43 runs. Mohammad Younis scored 26 runs and Numan Shah scored 25 runs. For India, Arshin Kulkarni and Raj Limbani took three wickets each.

In response to the target, India suffered two setbacks within the first 10 overs. Adarsh Singh returned to the pavilion after scoring 14 runs and Rudra Patel scored 5 runs. Arshin Kulkarni along with captain Uday Saharan (20) took the score to 76. From here Kulkarni and Musheer Khan made an unbeaten partnership of 98 runs and led the team to victory. Kulkarni scored an unbeaten 70 and Musheer also scored an unbeaten 48 runs.

Mohammad Zeeshan destroyed Nepal’s batsmen

Batting first in the second match of Under-19 Asia Cup, Nepal team was all out after scoring only 152 in 47.2 overs. Uttam Magar scored the highest innings of 51 runs for the team. In others only two batsmen could reach double digit scores. Pakistan’s Mohammad Zeeshan bowled lethally and took six wickets for 19 runs. Chasing the target of 153, Pakistan won in 26.2 overs. Azan Awais scored unbeaten 56 runs. Captain Saad Baig also played an inning of 50 runs. Mohammad Zeeshan also scored unbeaten 20 runs in 8 balls while batting.

Group B matches will be played in the tournament tomorrow. The first match will be between UAE and Bangladesh, while the second match will be between Japan and Sri Lanka.
