Babar Azam left the captaincy of Pakistan team

Babar Azam wrote about his decision to leave the captaincy, ‘I remember well the moment when I got a call from PCB to lead Pakistan in 2019. In the last four years, I have seen many ups and downs on and off the field, but I have aimed to maintain the pride and honor of Pakistan in the cricket world with all my heart and dedication. Let us tell you that under the captaincy of Babar Azam, Pakistan team reached number one position in ODI cricket.

Regarding his resignation, he further said in this emotional post, ‘Today, I am stepping down as the captain of Pakistan in all formats. It’s a tough decision but I think it’s the right time too. I will continue to represent Pakistan as a player in all three formats. I will be there to support the new captain and the team with my experience and dedication. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the Pakistan Cricket Board for entrusting me with this important responsibility.

According to reports, after Babar Azam leaves the captaincy, the names of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood can be seen for the captaincy. However, PCB has not officially confirmed this news but a major decision can be taken soon.
