In the World Cup 2023, Pakistan won only four out of its nine matches and exited the tournament with 8 points. The biggest role behind the poor performance was played by the fast bowlers. Leading fast bowler Shaheen Afridi failed to take wickets with the new ball on most occasions. At the same time, Haris Rauf was badly beaten and he also became the bowler who spent the most runs in an edition of the World Cup. Hasan Ali also looked lackluster and gave away runs at an economy of more than six. For this reason, Pakistan had to face defeat against most of the big teams.
