Inzamam-ul-Haq left the post of chief selector in PCB

The World Cup (CWC 2023) being held in India has been like a nightmare for the Pakistan Cricket Team. After winning the first two matches, the team lost the next 4 matches and its hopes of reaching the semi-finals are almost over. Captain Babar, all the players, and the chief officials of the Pakistan team are facing heavy criticism. Meanwhile, Inzamam-ul-Haq, who returned as the chief selector of Pakistan team three months ago, has suddenly resigned from his post.

According to reports, Inzamam has resigned under ‘Conflict of Interest’. Recently, people raised concerns about Inzamam’s alleged stake in Talha Rahmani’s player management company. This company works as an agent for Pakistan’s legendary players including Inzamam and other players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi. They highlighted the potential conflict of interest, and on Monday, the PCB expected to ask Inzamam for clarification on the matter.

After resigning, Inzamam-ul-Haq said, ‘People say anything without any investigation. People continuously questioned me, so I felt it was right to resign. If PCB wants to investigate me, I am available. People made allegations against me without proof. If there’s any evidence, present it. I have no connection with the players’ agent company and such allegations are troubling me.

The former Pakistan captain further said, ‘I was told on a phone call that a five-member committee has been formed, so I told the board that while the investigation is going on, it would be better if I resign. When everything is back to normal I will sit with the PCB again.
