The Asia Cup, the biggest cricket tournament played between Asian teams in the history of cricket, is going to start from 30th August. The final match of the tournament will be played on 17 September. This time the tournament will be in ODI format and a total of six teams including two groups will be seen participating. The Asia Cup is being hosted by Pakistan but the tournament is to be played in a hybrid model, due to which matches will be held in Sri Lanka as well. The main reason for the hybrid model was India’s refusal to play in Pakistan, considering which the PCB found a middle ground.
The six teams participating in the tournament have been divided into two groups. India and Nepal are in the first group along with hosts Pakistan, while Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are in the second group.
