ICC announces match officials for WTC Final, Bad news for Team India!

The final match of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC Final 2023) between Australia and India (AUS vs IND) will be played at The Oval ground in London from 7th June. For this important match, both the teams have released their respective list of 15 players and stand by players and now ICC has also announced the umpires and other officials for this great match. The ICC has approved the names of the on-field umpires, the third and fourth umpires and the match referee. After the announcement of the officials of this match, cricket lovers on social media are telling bad news for India.

Richard Illingworth and Chris Gaffney will be present as on-field umpires for the World Test Championship final, while Richard Kettleburgh will act as the on-field umpire as the TV umpire ie the third umpire. Sri Lankan veteran Kumar Dharmasena will be the fourth umpire while Richie Richardson of the West Indies will be the match referee.

Illingworth and Gaffney have considerable international experience and are both on the ICC’s Elite Panel of Umpires. The upcoming final match will be Gaffney’s 49th Test and Illingworth’s 64th Test match. This is the second consecutive World Test Championship final for Richard Kettleburgh to be present as the third umpire. He was also present in the role of TV umpire in the last final.
