Sunil Gavaskar reacted to Rohit Sharma’s statement about WTC final

Former Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar has disagreed with Rohit Sharma’s statement that the final of the World Test Championship should be three matches. Sunil Gavaskar has given a sharp reaction to this statement of Rohit Sharma. According to Gavaskar, teams should be prepared beforehand to play such an event and should not make such statements later.

The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma was badly defeated in the final of the World Test Championship. Australia defeated Team India by 209 runs on the last day of the game. Chasing the target of 444 runs, the Indian team was reduced to scoring only 234 runs. No batsman could stay and play a long innings and with this, the team’s dream of winning the ICC title was broken once again. At the same time, after this, Captain Rohit Sharma said that the final of the World Test Championship should not be of one match but it should be of three matches. Sunil Gavaskar does not agree with his statement. He said that Rohit Sharma should have already prepared for this match.

Rohit Sharma should not make such demands – Sunil Gavaskar

During a conversation with India Today, Sunil Gavaskar said,

“This final was decided long ago. From the time you joined this cycle, it was known that the final would be only one match. Should have been prepared. When you prepare for IPL then you don’t take the best of three names. Everyone can have one bad day and some bad days but you knew before the first ball that This final match is the same. So now you cannot demand the best of three. Tomorrow again you start demanding the best of five.
