Two matches were played in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) on Sunday. In the first match, Galle Titans defeated Jaffna Kings by 7 wickets and kept their playoff hopes alive. In the second match, Colombo Strikers defeated B-Luv Candy by 9 runs. If they had lost this match, then they would have been out of the playoff race. Now in the match between Colombo Strikers and Galle Titans, whichever team wins will go to the playoffs.

If we talk about the match, the team of Jaffna Kings won the toss and decided to bat, which proved to be completely wrong. The team was reduced to scoring just 89 runs in 20 overs. Dunith Velalge top-scored with 22 runs and the rest of the batsmen were a complete flop. Shoaib Malik could not even open the account. For Galle Titans, Kasun Rajita took 4 wickets for just 20 runs. The team won despite the flop performance of Babar Azam
Batting first in the second match, Colombo Strikers scored 169 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Pathum Nissanka played an excellent inning of 51 runs off 38 balls. However, veteran batsman Babar Azam once again flopped and could only manage 9 runs. Nipun Dhananjay scored 40 off 29 balls in the middle order. Mohammad Nawaz also played an innings of 21 runs off 19 balls.
