Big blow to England team, key batsman out of Ashes series

In the ongoing Ashes series (Ashes 2023) between England and Australia (ENG vs AUS), the host team’s troubles are not taking the name of stopping. With England trailing 0-2 in the series due to close defeats in the first two Test matches, England players were also targeted by the cricket world due to the many controversies in the Lord’s Test match. In such a situation, another bad news has come out for the England team. The main batsman of the England team, Ally Pop has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the Ashes series. Pop suffered a serious shoulder injury during the second Test match, due to which he will no longer be a part of this series.

Olly Pop has dislocated his right shoulder and underwent scans on Monday, following which it has been decided that Pop will now undergo shoulder surgery, ruling him out of the next 3 matches. Olly Pop has suffered this injury twice before and will now undergo surgery and rehab under the supervision of medical teams from England and his home team Surrey. Pop dislocated his shoulder while fielding on the very first day of the Lord’s Test and was taken off the field on the third day due to aggravation.

Disappointed, Jeetan Patel, spin bowling coach of the England team, said in this context, ‘It is a very difficult situation when your shoulder is almost injured and you are told that it is an external injury. He is very committed to this team. He is always falling on something or the other. And now he has backed out due to injury.

Let us tell you that Olly Pop was appointed as the vice-captain for the Ashes series, but now after his ouster, speculations are rife that Stuart Broad may get the responsibility.
