Excellent batting by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Team India got a significant lead

The second match of the Test series between South Africa and India (SA vs IND) has started today at the New Lands ground in Cape Town. South African captain Dean Elgar won the toss and decided to bat first, which cost him dearly and the entire team collapsed for 55 runs. Mohammad Siraj bowled stormily for India and took 6 wickets. By tea time, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli played good innings and the Indian team has scored 111/4. They has taken an early lead of 56 runs.

First session

The Proteas team had a very bad start. With a total score of 15 runs, 4 batsmen of the host team returned to the pavilion. Mohammad Siraj sent Aiden Markram for 2 runs, Dean Elgar for 4 runs and Tony DeGeorge for 2 runs. While Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Tristan Stubbs for 3 runs. David Bendingham and Kyle Verne added 19 runs for the 5th wicket but Siraj again showed his deadly bowling. Siraj first showed Bendingham the way to the pavilion for 12 runs and immediately after that he dismissed Marco Jansen for zero.

Siraj’s storm did not stop here and he sent Kyle Verne to the pavilion for 15 runs and South Africa lost 8 wickets before 50 runs. Mukesh Kumar also got success in his first over as Keshav Maharaj. Mukesh Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah took 2-2 wickets.

Second session

After a brilliant game in the first session, Team India’s batsmen came on the field. Yashasvi Jaiswal once again flopped and returned to the pavilion on zero but after this Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill made an important partnership of 55 runs and crossed South Africa’s score of 55 runs. Rohit Sharma scored 39 runs and Shubman Gill became the victim of Nandre Berger after scoring 36 runs. Shreyas Iyer, who came to bat in the middle order, also got out without opening the account but Virat Kohli is standing at one end after scoring 20 runs. KL Rahul has come on the field to support him and Nandre Berger has taken 3 wickets in his name.
