Gujarat Titans has announced the name of its new captain for IPL 2024. Team’s opening batsman Shubman Gill has been made the new captain. Till now the team was commanded by Hardik Pandya but now he has become a part of his old franchise Mumbai and due to this Gujarat Titans had to look for the option of a new captain. Gill has not captained the league even once, so the leadership experience is going to be different and special for him.

Shubman Gill, reacting to being made the captain of Gujarat Titans, said,
I am happy and proud to take over the captaincy of Gujarat Titans and thank the franchise for reposing faith in me to lead such a great team. We have had two extraordinary seasons and I look forward to leading the team with my exciting brand of cricket.

Gujarat Titans director Vikram Solanki said about Shubman Gill,
Shubhman Gill has risen to prominence over the last two years at the highest level of the game. We have seen him mature not only as a batsman but also as a leader in cricket. His contributions on the field have helped Gujarat Titans emerge as a force to be reckoned with in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. His maturity and skill are clearly visible in his performances on the field and we are extremely excited to start a new journey with a young captain like Shubman.

Let us tell you that Shubman Gill, who started his career for KKR in IPL, was added by Gujarat Titans through the draft before the 2022 season. The young player had scored 483 runs for Gujarat in his debut season itself and played an important role in making the team champion.

After this, in the season played this year, Gill was successful in scoring even more runs and he scored 890 runs, which included three centuries. His team had missed the title win but he had made everyone his fan with his tremendous performance throughout the season.
