New Zealand’s crushing defeat against Pakistan

Pakistan Women tour of New Zealand gave proof of its tremendous preparation by defeating New Zealand XI by 57 runs in the tour match played in Lincoln. Playing first, Pakistan lost all its wickets in 50 overs and scored 238 runs. In reply, New Zealand XI lost all its wickets and scored only 181 runs in the entire overs.

Pakistan got the chance to bat first but all the key batsmen of the team were dismissed cheaply and at one time even the score of 150 seemed difficult. Openers Sadaf Shams 4 and Sidra Amin returned to the pavilion without opening their account. Muniba Ali contributed 10 runs and Bismah Maroof contributed 14 runs. Whereas captain Nida Dar played an inning of 16 runs and Aliya Riaz played an inning of 20 runs. Omaima Sohail also scored 24 runs. Naziha Alvi contributed 38 runs in 52 balls from the lower order. Sidra Amin got a chance to bat again and scored an unbeaten 32 runs. In this way the team scored 238. Gabby Sullivan took maximum four wickets for New Zealand XI.

Good start for New Zealand XI while chasing the target. The opening pair of Abigail Gerken and Nancy Patel added 66 runs. Abigail scored 42 runs before Nancy was out on scores of 24 and 83 before being dismissed on 66. However, as soon as both of them were out, there was a flurry of wickets and only three batsmen managed to reach double-digit scores, with Osian Bartlett scoring the highest score of 23 runs. In this way the entire team was able to score only a nominal score and lost the match. Pakistan captain Nida Dar took five wickets, Alia Riaz and Diana Baig took two wickets each.

The first three-match T20I series is to be played between New Zealand and Pakistan, which will start from December 3. Later, there will also be a three-match ODI series, the first match of which will be played on December 12.
