SL vs Omn: Sri Lanka’s big win in ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023

In the first match played today in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023, Sri Lanka won against Oman (SL vs OMN). Sri Lanka achieved the target of 99 runs given by Oman in 15 overs without losing a wicket. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl first in this SL vs OMN match. Oman team got off to a bad start, losing the first 4 wickets for 20 runs within 10 overs. In search of their second win of the tournament, Sri Lanka needed 99 runs which was easily achieved by the team’s openers. Pathum Nishanka and Dimuth Karunaratne put on 100 runs in 15 overs to win the match and get 2 crucial points. Pathum Nishanka scored 37 runs off 39 balls which included 5 fours while experienced batsman Dimuth Karunaratne at the other end scored an excellent half-century of 61 runs. Karunaratne hit 8 fours in his innings.
