Team India suffered another big blow after the defeat, ICC took major action

Team India had to face a crushing defeat in the Centurion Test match against South Africa (SA vs IND). The Indian team did not appear competitive at all and both the team’s bowling and batting were a complete flop. Because of this the team suffered a big defeat. Apart from this defeat, more bad news came for India. ICC has taken major action against the Indian team for slow over rate. Two points have been deducted from Team India in the World Test Championship and this could be a big blow to the team’s hopes of reaching the finals.

In the Centurion Test match, South Africa defeated India by an innings and 32 runs within three days. The Indian team had scored 245 runs in its first innings thanks to a century by KL Rahul. In reply, South Africa scored 408 runs in its first innings and took a lead of 163 runs. However, in reply, Team India was all out after scoring only 131 runs in its second innings. In the last session, India lost seven wickets and added only 69 runs. In this way Team India had to face a crushing defeat.

Team India was two overs behind the scheduled time

Team India’s troubles did not end here. The Indian bowlers were two overs short of their target and due to this, match referee Chris Broad took major action against the team and deducted two points from the World Test Championship. Under the ICC Code of Conduct, players are also fined five percent of their match fees. The team will be fined five percent for every over that falls short of the target. After ICC reduced the points, the position of the Indian team is no longer good in the points table of the Test Championship.
