Rohit Sharma scored a tremendous century

The third match of the T20 series was played between India and Afghanistan at the Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bangalore. Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. Team India gave a challenging target of 213 runs to Afghanistan due to the tremendous innings of captain Rohit and Rinku Singh. Rohit Sharma has scored the 5th century of his T20 International career, while Rinku Singh also scored a explosive half-century.

Team India, who came to bat first, had a very bad start. Yashasvi Jaiswal lost 4 runs, Shivam Dubey lost 1 run and Virat Kohli and Sanju Samson lost their wickets on the first ball each. At one time India had lost 4 wickets for 22 runs but from here openers Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh took over the innings and made an excellent partnership of 190 runs.

Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh hit 36 runs in the last over

Rohit Sharma could not even open his account in the first two matches but in this match he saved his team’s sinking boat and scored a brilliant century. He played an unbeaten inning of 121 runs on 69 balls which included 11 fours and 8 sixes. Rohit Sharma made his highest score in T20 International career. On the other end, Rinku Singh was seen in his old style. Rinku Singh played a tremendous inning of 69 runs in 39 balls, during which he hit 2 fours and 6 sixes. There was a strong partnership of 190 runs in 95 balls between the two batsmen. Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh hit 36 runs in the last over and took India’s score beyond 200.

For Afghanistan, Farid Ahmed Malik took maximum 3 wickets while Azmatullah Omarzai also got 1 wicket. The visiting team will have to achieve the target of 213 runs to save its credibility.
