Australian openers made the record against India

The third and last match of the three-match ODI series (IND-W vs AUS-W) between the Indian women’s team and Australia women’s team is being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In this match, Australian captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and decided to bat first, which till now seemed to be completely correct and till the time of writing the news, the team had made a score of 195/1 in 30 overs. The Australian openers Phoebe Litchfield and Healy gave Australia a tremendous start by making a century partnership, and also made the record of the biggest opening partnership in ODI against the Indian women’s team.

The Australian openers, Phoebe Litchfield and Alyssa Healy added 55 runs in the first powerplay and then took their partnership beyond 100 and then 150 in no time. During this, Lichfield and Healy completed their respective half-centuries in 50 balls. The pair added 189 runs for the first wicket and held the record for the highest opening partnership against the Indian women’s team, which was held by South African captain Laura Wolvaardt and Lizelle Lee. The pair of Wolvaardt and Lee had added 169 runs in the match played in Lucknow in the year 2021.

The big opening partnership being made by Australian openers was ended by Pooja Vastrakar for the Indian team and she bowled Healy. The Australian captain played an innings of 82 runs in 85 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes before getting out.

Australia has maintained an unassailable lead in the series

It is worth noting that the result of today’s match will not make any difference to the series win or loss, only a clean sweep can save the defeat from the Indian team’s point of view. Australia has already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series by winning both the opening ODIs. The team won the first match by 6 wickets and the second match by 3 runs.
