IND A-W vs ENG A-W: India registered a close win in the first T20

The series of 3 T20 matches between India A and England A (IND A-W vs ENG A-W) started from 29 November, in the first match of which the Indian team registered a close victory by 3 runs. Playing first, India A team scored 134/7 in 20 overs, in response to which England A team could only score 131/8 despite playing the entire overs. India’s Shreyanka Patil was adjudged Player of the Match for her brilliant bowling.

India A won the toss and decided to bat first but the team had a poor start. Uma Chhetri (9) was out on the score of 14 in the second over of the innings. From here the pair of Dinesh Vrinda and Disha Kasat took the score to 43. Vrinda returned to the pavilion after scoring 22 runs in 22 balls and Kasat scored 25 runs in 32 balls. Gannananda Divya contributed 22 runs and Aarushi Goyal contributed 15 runs. Kanika Ahuja also played an inning of 19 runs. Shreyanka Patil remained unbeaten after scoring 5 runs. In this way the team scored 134/7 in 20 overs. For England, Freya Kemp and captain Charlie Dean took two wickets each.

England had a bad start in reply to the target and Grace Scrivens became the victim of Shreyanka Patil after scoring 7 runs at the score of 11 in the second over. The second opener Maddy Villiers scored 20 runs in 17 balls and was out on the score of 32 in the sixth over. Freya Kemp also remained active after scoring 1 run. From here the pair of Holly Armitage and Seren Small took the score to 110. Armitage scored 52 runs in 41 balls with the help of three fours and a six and became the victim of Minnu Mani at the score of 110 in the 17th over. In the next over, Small also remained on the personal score of 31.

The matter went till the last over, in which England A had to score 13 runs to win with 4 wickets remaining. Shreyanka Patil, who came to bowl the last over, gave away 9 runs in the first four balls but took two wickets in the last two balls. For India A, Kashvi Gautam and Shreyanka Patil took two wickets each in this IND A-W vs ENG A-W match.
