From December 26, South Africa has to play a 2-Test series (SA vs IND) against India at home. The South African Test squad for this series was announced on Monday, in which along with experienced players, many young players have also got a chance. Temba Bavuma and Kagiso Rabada, who were rested from the T20I and ODI series, will be part of the Test series. Bavuma will also lead the team.

South Africa has also given a chance to batsman David Bedingham, fast bowlers Nandre Berger and Tristan Stubbs as new players in its Test squad. Stubbs has already represented the South African team in white-ball formats.

Wicketkeeper Kyle Warren and fast bowler Lungi Ngidi, who were dropped from the Test team last summer, have also returned. However, Heinrich Klaasen, who has shown tremendous performance in the white ball formats in recent times, has been dropped.

Right-arm fast bowler Anrich Nortje is still not fit and has not been selected. He was ruled out of the World Cup due to a stress fracture in his lower back. Nortje has not had surgery and is being monitored on a monthly basis. Cricket South Africa hopes that he will be ready to play around February or March next year.
